Tires

Tires can be taken to Geiter Done, 300 Greene Street (Lovejoy).

Construction material

Construction and remodeling debris can be taken to the Eastside Transfer Station on Richard Drive (near Big Lots on South Ogden). Fees are based on tonnage. Another option is a Bagster or dumpster with Waste Management pickup (additional cost).

  • Bulk items are limited to two (2) per month per address.
  • Mattresses and box springs must be bagged.

Set-out time

Totes are to be placed on the headland by the curb after 6 pm the day before scheduled pickup.

Restrictions

All Building Materials (i.e. Roofing Shingles, Drywall, Concrete, etc.) MUST BE TAKEN DIRECTLY TO Waste Managementโ€™s facility on Richard Drive off of South Ogden (Near Big Lots). See restrictions on electronics and recycling options.

Bag and secure trash

Bag household trash to prevent litter. Do not overfill containers; keep items below the rim. Ensure the arrows on the totes are pointed toward the street

Recycling: empty & dry

Rinse containers and keep recyclables loose. Flatten cardboard when possible.

Leaves, branches & yard debris

Leaves

Rake leaves between the curb and the street (headland). Do not place leaves in the streetโ€”this is a violation of NYS Vehicle & Traffic Law and can contribute to storm sewer backups.

Branches (DPW pickup)

Branches must be bundled and tied and are picked up by DPW on Thursdays. Maximum length is 4 feet.
